Dec 20 (Sat) – Luke 2:15–20 – The shepherds return glorifying and praising God.

READ

“When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, ‘Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.’ … And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.”

DEVOTION

The shepherds weren’t important people. They weren’t the ones anyone expected to be part of the story God was writing. Yet they were the first to hear, the first to go, and the first to witness the newborn Savior with their own eyes.

What’s beautiful is how simple their response was: they went and they worshiped. They didn’t overthink it. They didn’t worry about whether they were worthy. They simply followed what God revealed to them — and it changed them.

So often, we allow our own thoughts of worthiness or state of mind to dictate how God sees and values us. We think we need to have it all together to come to him first. The truth can’t be further from this though! He sees us, he wants us and he is so worthy of our worship! Our worship flows from HIS worthiness, not ours……

REFLECT

Where might God be inviting me to bring a heart of worship back into the ordinary parts of my life?

PRAY

Jesus, teach me to praise You right where I am. Help me to see You, even in ordinary moments.
