“Peace on earth, goodwill toward men”
DEVOTION
Shepherding must have been a lonely job at times. Lots of time to ponder and wonder. Do you suppose David became such a beautiful writer when he was watching the sheep for hours on end? Do you think that he might have brought his harp and played it under the night sky? I can imagine those ordinary shepherds telling the story of the angel appearing to them. I can imagine the glory of the Lord shining around the angel then the multitude of angels singing. This is SO like our God. The same God who chose to be a human so we could KNOW HIM gave the good news to lowly shepherds first. “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to people He favors!” It would seem he favors the lowly. Jesus said “Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the earth.”

Dear God,
Thank You for letting us truly know You in the person of Jesus. Thank You for the “good news of great joy that is for all people.”
